● Custom tailored for specific laser applications, including Q-switching of flashlamp pump lasers, Q-switching of DPSS lasers, pulse injection into an amplifier, or for laser pulse picking that requires fast rise and fall time of HV pulse, cavity dumping, and CW beam chopping applications.
● Fully tested with in-house made Pockels cells
● Various choices of voltage region, repetition rate, and pulse form
● Compact design available
● High voltage drivers with operating voltage up to 9.8 kV and HV pulse repetition rate up to 6 MHz
● Competitive price and lead time
A Pockels Cell Driver is a high-voltage regulated power supply, either pulse or continuous, allowing to control a birefringence of an electro-optical crystal (KTP, KD*P, BBO, etc.) in order to drive the polarization direction of the light propagating through the crystal.
WISOPTIC has developed and produces a variety of Pockels cell drivers
for different applications: from very simple compact devices for
q-switching to precise and powerful fast models for pulse picking,
cavity damping, regenerative amplifier control, etc.
Pockels Cell Driver for Q-Switching of Flashlamp Pumped Lasers
These drivers are designed for Q-switching of nanosecond flashlamp pumped lasers without use of phase retardation plates, for example to drive a DKDP Pockels cell in YAG lasers for aesthetic therapy. High voltage is applied to Pockels cell in order to inhibit oscillation. Pockels cell is opened by negative polarity pulse allowing laser to radiate.
BBO Pockels Cell Drivers
● HV rise/fall time: 2-4 ns @ 800 V, 6-12 ns @ 2400 V, 10-20 ns @ 4000 V
● HV pulse amplitude up to 4.5 kV
● Pulse repetition rate up to 200 kHz
